Hey
Craig,
Here are some pictures of the 230 mill. That was a
30" x 12' log on the mill. It is cutting very well.
I am very pleased with it. Thanks, Rich. |

Sawmill Music:
I milled the wood for these instruments using my Hud-Son Oscar 28
sawmill I purchased last year. The fiddles are
made out of walnut and sycamore and their matching cases
are made out of walnut and cherry. My efforts won me
$500.00 in the Most Unusual category in Hud-Son's
Sawmill Contest.

To Whom It May Concern:
I have always liked woodworking however the
price of lumber is a real setback to some
craftsman. This is why I took a chance and
bought an OSCAR 18 this sawmill is perfect
for the avid woodworker. I have enclosed a
picture of the first project I built with my
OSCAR 18. This is a solid cherry heirloom
bookcase that I constructed from a log I had cut
two years ago and never had the heart to cut it
up for firewood so when I bought my OSCAR I was
thrilled to find how much lumber was in this one
log. This bookcase is constructed of solid 3/4
cherry the only plywood used was for the backer
other than that its solid cherry I even carved
the Cabriole legs. I also do a lot of
Intarsia I have enclosed a few pictures of my
work. I find that now I have my OSCAR 18 I can
saw the lumber to the thickness I need which
saves a lot on my plainer and also on wood
waste. I really recommend to anyone who crafts
with wood and is fortunate enough to by an
OSCAR, to do so. I am totally amazed with
mine.

Dear Hud-Son - Using trees from my yard I built these projects
using my Farm Boss. First is a post and beam style open air firewood
shed made entirely out of eastern white pine with cedar shingles, it
holds one cord of wood, the second is a wishing well that came from a
dead standing cedar salvaged from my backyard. It is 100% cedar. |

I bought your OSCAR 18 from Steve
White in Dalton, NH. It is a great machine and I have been doing a lot
of board cutting for the floor of my home which is under construction. Do you have any
information other than the mimeo'd sheets relative to the machine, how
it works, proper settings, saw blade settings, etc? Thanks.
Got a video?? Yes We Do!! |

Hud-Son - Here is a photo that was taken about a week ago. Been keeping
pretty busy until the temp went down to -20 and it got a bit cold to be out
playing .... I will be taking the sawmill out to a remote property that I own on
lake frontage to build a cabin. Most of the lumber I have
cut here will be used to build a smaller cabin first.
Thanks,
Mark DeLoach |

My Oscar 36 was delivered on 14 January,
2006 @ 1605 hours ... about five minutes
late. I can accept the delay, because of the
inclement weather, and because Tom is
probably related to you, by blood or
marriage ... after all, Hud-Son is a family
affair. Besides that, a drop in temperature
was the reason. I did not assemble the mill
until Monday, 16 January 2006, when the
morning temperature was 5 F. Even under
those conditions, the Oscar 36 went together
rather easily, taking a total of about four
hours. After lunch, I double checked all the
fluids, dimensions, etc, then rolled on the
most bony pine log I could find. The 16 HP
Vanguard fired right up; the blade lube
dripped just fine; so I set the log dogs and
ran the carriage down the ways .... I was
impressed! Contrary to the congratulations
given on the cover of the service manual
provided with my Oscar 36, I am not wise...
only practical, and I have found that your
band saw mill is the best on the
market for that price. I know, because
I've done my homework and have seen a lot of
mills in the last 30 years, including the
52" Lane with a D-6 Cat engine that sawed
out my log cabin in 1973. The Oscar 36
I bought from you is the most accurate and
efficient mill I have seen, and I will
proudly use it to cut quality lumber. Your
grandfather must be proud ...
Sincerely yours, John Stockman |

Hello
Folks! I purchased an Oscar 30 from Johnson in Ogdensburg, WI yesterday.
It took about an hour to set up and we were off and sawing. What a
fantastic little machine! The Johnson's were great to work with on this
purchase. Want to let you know you have a great product (I'm
quite sure you knew this already) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Thanks A Million!

Sirs - I purchased an Oscar 18 last year and to say I like it
is an understatement! I never even seen one before, but after a little
while I figured it out.
Thanks again! Chuck Holland,

To Hud-Son Forest Equipment Co. - I purchased your Oscar 18 sawmill on August 1 and I need to tell you how pleased I am with this
saw, your product is top line and what a good price also. I purchased the saw from Thick and Thin
Lumber in Sabattus, Maine and the staff was #1. I was pleased with the
knowledge of owning and operating the sawmill that they showed me, the
customer service was great! I'll let the word out about your fine
sawmill and the service I received. Thanks for
an affordable and well constructed sawmill! Paul Muszynski,

To Hud-Son Forest Equipment
Co. - I recently bought an
18 from dealer Steve White
in NH. I thought you might
want to know that Steve was
great to deal with and I am
very happy with my Oscar 18.
Anyway I have been sawing
away like mad making lumber
for a porch addition on my
house and lumber for an
addition on my camp. The
Oscar is a great little
machine and well thought out
and constructed.
Thanks for making it!

I have had my Oscar 30 for about 18
months now. I use it to saw native Texas Mesquite and other Texas woods.
I use the Oscar 30 only five or six times per month. It is used outside
and is only covered with a tarp, it starts and cuts true every time.
This reliability means a lot to me.

Just
wanted to send you a
note to say how much I'm
enjoying my new mill. So far
it has done everything I
expected and is even easier
than I had imagined to
operate. I am still cleaning
up storm damaged timber from
hurricane Ivan which did
heavy damage to my timber
land in south central
Alabama. I can't tell you
how much it means to me to
be able to salvage this down
timber and make really good
looking lumber out of
it. Thanks for making a
product that lives up to
it's advertising. My Oscar
28 is big where it needs
to be and still portable
enough to move around with
ease. Bruce Bennett, Pine Apple, Alabama |

Dear Mike - After speaking to you the other day we
figured we'd get some pictures off to you, sent with a BIG howdy from
Texas. Our HUD-SON Oscar 18" saw mill is making our dream home come
true. It's the only piece of equipment we've bought that has paid for
itself in the first six months of owning it. Our home which will
be about 2,800 ft and all wood is depending on your product and so far
no problem. We're hoping by late fall of this year to be into our home
along with our teenage son who will be upstairs in his own room w/bath.
Our neighbor, after seeing the cedar, oak, pine and elm we cut went and
bought one from your company too. Bobby quit his job and is now swamped
with orders to cut wood for other people and he's making more money now,
he also is making his own house. People mention how they like the
look of our home and they loved the smell, all natural wood. Jeannie, Martin and Alan

Dear Hud-Son Forest Equipment,
Last year I purchased an Oscar 30 from Jack Putman last summer. We
had a wind storm a few weeks ago that knocked the barn down
on the mill. The whole barn was on it, beams, roof you
name it, it was on the mill. I uncovered the mill & nothing was wrong
with it. I did my homework before I bought the mill and had figured if
it was any other brand of mill there would be nothing left of it. I am
very pleased with the way my Hud-Son mill is made and the way it held up
to the weight of an entire barn. Thanks for an affordable, quality made
product.

Dear
Ray,
Thank you for your help in ordering a new winch for "Little Oscar"
My husband loves his sawmill. Anytime he disappears I know where to look
for him. I call Little Oscar "The Mistress". I tell anyone who will
listen, Little Oscar will save you time, save you money, save your sanity
and save your marriage! Thank you again for your quick, professional help. Respectfully, Patricia Holcomb |

Dear Hud-Son
Forest Equipment
- Hello - I
thought you
might be
interested in
these pictures.
I just finished
sawing a Cherry
log that started
out as a 38" log
with my Little
28 inch Hud-Son Bandsaw mill. I
started by
shaping the log
with a chain saw
to fit into the
mill opening
which is 28"x
28" with a
diagonal of 39
inches. I had to
take my first
cut of about 6
inches because
the mill
actually does
not raise up to
the 28 inch bar
but after that
it was smooth
cutting. The log
weighed about
4000 lbs so it
was a bit of
work to turn but
we managed.
We really enjoy
the mill and
have cut about
3000 board foot
of maple, cherry
and some pine.
So far it has
performed like a
champ!- Thanks
for making a
great little
sawmill!

Hello. We are in Vermont, we bought
one of your Oscar 228 mills from Steve White in New
Hampshire. The service we received from Steve was well
above and beyond what anyone could ask for. We were
supposed to pick up the mill but, could not make it.
Saturday Steve had a pig roast and the next day, Sunday
he was at our home at 9 am with the mill. He really made
our dream come true. We would like to say thanks Steve
and thank you also Hud-Son crew for building such a fine
affordable mill.
